Snapshots of our Mindoro Trip

Here are my snapshots of our latest trip. We visited the Mangyans of Sitio Culasisi, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro and joined them on their recognition day which was also my husband’s birthday.

Will post more stories when I already have time, for now, enjoy the pics!

These children are all elementary students…Grades 1 and 2. Yes, including the two older men. On the upside, I am proud of them; it takes a strong mind, heart, and will to be the “odd” one in your school. Kudos to these men. I salute them.

He won a medal of candies for being the neatest in class. In some parts of this country, candies are used as medal. They say buying ribbons would cost more. On the upside, I think this is more practical, and a real treat to children.

Six families live in this house. It takes them 2-3 months to build this house. Quite breezy inside, and spacious, too, but not for six families, I suppose.

The baby is less than 3 months old, and she’s her nth child.

Smile…definitely a universal language. Aside from Math. 😛

They may not have much, but at the end of the day, the find something to smile about.

And ironically, those who have less usually share more. Stumbled upon these two boys while exploring the village, and caught them sharing the snacks that was distributed to them.
